Elite Young Riders
At Contessa everyone starts with an assessment lesson and the instructor will assess your riding ability. When your instructor thinks that you are up to the standard required for the Elite Young Rider Club your instructor will approach you and talk about what it means to be a Elite Young Rider. Your instructor will recommend you to Joao and discuss with him if you can join the group.
All riders need to be of a certain level, and need to be willing to listen to criticism and advice. If you would like to join the group but your instructor hasn’t put you forward for it please talk to your instructor or a member of staff if he/she can recommend you to Joao.
The club teaches young riders how to develop their way of riding , whilst teaching some of our advanced school horses and ponies to develop within their paces and movement. Joao teaches in a unique way to get the children to progress and enjoy dressage. As Joao is very busy, and doesn’t usually teach children it is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a professional and an advanced instructor. Tarik, Toby and Millie are main horses within the group, however other horses and ponies are frequently used.
